The Government of Hungary approved the draft text of the Framework Agreement for the Second Swiss-Hungarian Cooperation Programme

The Government of Hungary also approved the draft text of the Framework Agreement accepted by the Swiss Federal Council earlier, after the signing of which the Swiss side will provide Hungary with a non-refundable grant of 87.60 million Swiss francs, for a total of 10 years. Hungary also contributes to this amount, so together with the national co-financing, it is possible to use a grant of approx. 40 billion Hungarian Forint.

The Swiss Confederation enters into a bilateral agreement with each beneficiary country setting out the general institutional, financial and procedural conditions for the provision of assistance, which is the so-called Framework Agreement. This agreement establishes the Swiss-Hungarian Cooperation Programme, i.e. the Swiss Fund within the framework of the Swiss Contribution.

The Swiss Fund, taking into consideration domestic development needs and priorities, supports the following areas in Hungary:

· vocational and professional education and training;
· research and innovation;
· financing for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises;
· providing support to migration management and promoting integration measures;
· energy efficiency and renewable energy;
· water and wastewater management;
· health and social protection;
· minorities and socially disadvantaged groups

The bilateral agreement could be signed this fall, and we will announce this soon. After that, the application period and the implementation of the programmes and projects can begin.
