In a spirit of solidarity, Switzerland participates in sharing the cost of EU enlargement, so this is the second period in which Hungary benefits from the Swiss Contribution.

The Professional Steering Board held its fourth meeting

Within the framework of the wastewater management objective of the programme SM07-WWM Improving water quality in Hungary, this year’s first in-person meeting of the Professional Steering Board was held on 24 April 2025, in the panoramic Wolfram meeting room of the Ministry of Energy. As part of the professional programme following the meeting, the participants visited the wastewater treatment plant in Vác operated by DMRV Danube Regional Waterworks Ltd. In addition to the representatives of the domestic institutional system involved in implementation, two employees of the Swiss Contribution Office, as well the Swiss partners of the programme representing Verband Schweizer Abwasser- und Gewässerschutzfachleute VSA and Eawag each also participated in the site-visit which was hosted by Mr. Zsolt Balogh Technical Director and his colleagues, who readily answered the questions. The implementation continues with performing the monitoring programme.
