Programme objective:
Contributing to the implementation of the National Energy and Climate Strategy with the goal to reduce the usage rate of natural gas usage through the use of renewable energy. For this reason Hungary’s goals are higher utilization of the exceptional geothermal potential of the country and the development of current geothermal production options.
Swiss support: CHF 12 million (HUF 4,97 billion)
National co-financing: CHF 2.1 million (HUF 877 million)

AWARNESS RAISING REGARDING RENEWABLE ENERGY
A civic engagement element will be implemented in all programme components where the Programme Operators will be working together with the civil society organizations in their respective territories to strengthen the civil society in a systemic way in its ability to participate in decision-making processes for environment related topics and to promote environmental awareness among the local citizens through the measures taken by a civil organization working in the field of environment and climate protection.
