TWO MORE SIGNED SUPPORT MEASURE AGREEMENTS UNDER THE CHRISTMAS TREE WITH NEAR 12 BILLION HUF

Today, dr. Gergő Korponai, Deputy Head of the National Coordination Unit and Thomas Widmer, Deputy Head of the Representation at the Embassy of Switzerland in Hungary signed the Support Measure Agreements for the Hospice Palliative Care Programme and the Improving Water Quality In Hungary Programme. The Hospice Palliative Care Programme has a budget of nearly HUF 4 billion, and the Improving Water Quality In Hungary Programme has a budget of HUF 7.6 billion, including national co-financing. The event was also attended by staff from the National Coordination Unit, the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Interior.

The Health Programme, through its five components, contributes to improving the quality of life of patients and their families in hospice palliative care by developing hospice palliative care through introducing new sites and services, by trainings and campaigns for professionals and civilians, and by strengthening coordination between hospice palliative care professionals and other actors. The Improved Water Quality in Hungary programme has an objective to improve the quality of drinking water by removing specific pollutants (iron, manganese), replacing network elements or drilling new wells. It also promotes a more efficient and sustainable use of the aquifer, e.g. by preventing leaks. The other objective of the programme is to contribute to improving the efficiency of wastewater treatment in Hungary and the removal of micropollutants. Based on the analytical measurements and technologies implemented in the selected treatment plants, a summary of the main characteristics of the removal of micropollutants will be provided, giving a vision for decision-makers.

With the cooperation agreements just signed, 7 out of 10 support measures have been signed this year and all 7 programmes have been accepted by the Swiss side.

We will continue in January!
