Professional work has begun in our programme aimed at improving water quality

In the framework of the programme Improving water quality in Hungary under the Second Swiss-Hungarian Cooperation Programme, the first Board meeting of the programme component entitled ‘Micropollutant elimination: Analytical measurements, White Book elaboration’ was held on July 10, 2024.

As the Chairman of the Board, Mr. Pál Réthy, Deputy State Secretary for Public Work and Water Management, emphasized that as a result of several years of preparatory work, the implementation reached an important milestone. The members of the Board shared their experience regarding the removal of micropollutants from municipal wastewater. The effectiveness of the programme is supported by Swiss expertise, therefore the meeting was attended by two wastewater and water protection experts representing the Swiss Association of Water Management Professionals (VSA) and Eawag Research Institute, whose professional experience the Ministry of Interior will count on as partners.

The next Board meeting is scheduled for autumn 2024.
