Support Measure Agreement has been signed for the project of the National Ambulance Service 'Improving life-saving skills for LIFE together'

On 3 December 2024, dr. Gergő Korponai, Deputy Head of the National Coordination Unit and H.E. Jean-François Paroz, Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Hungary, signed the Support Measure Agreement for the Project entitled ‘Improving of Life-Saving Skills’ in the ceremonial hall of the National Ambulance Service headquarters in Markó Street.

The Project Promoter has nearly 3.4 billion forints available for implementation, including national co-financing. In addition to the beneficiary host, the event was attended by representatives of the National Coordination Unit and members of the Swiss Contribution Office.

The main objective of the Project is to increase the number of first aid initiated by lay citizens, which includes life-saving interventions as well as early resuscitation.

The major elements of the Project are the creation of an online platform (website), the development of e-learning curricula, the procurement and distribution of AED and AED trainers (external defibrillators), as well as the organization of personal first aid and resuscitation trainings. Targeted instructor networks are being formed by involving teachers and nurses in schools, and at local level by civil guard volunteers and postal workers.

The Agreement just signed is the ninth of the 10 Support Measures implemented under the Second Swiss Contribution approved by the Swiss side.
